1 Bicycle… 123 Miles… 7,995ft Climb… 1 Day!

On 11th April 2015 I cycled from the West Coast to the East Coast of Britain. My dog Wolfred joined me for the first ten miles in his sturdy dog carrier which attaches to my handlebars.

The Coast to Coast Challenge is typically completed over a period of 3-4 days, however my aim was to complete the challenge in just one day.

The route I had carefully chosen started at Whitehaven and after 123 miles, finished in Sunderland. I cycled through the Lake District and the Pennines so I negotiated many hills on the day; 1,998ft at the highest point and I endured an overall climb of 7,995ft throughout my journey.
